The Acoustic Guitar Village in Cremona Musica begins, September 23-25, we are waiting for you!

Dear friends,

a few days before the start of the Acoustic Guitar Village, inside Cremona Musica International Exhibitions and Festival, 23-25 ​​September at the Cremona Fair. More and more actors and protagonists among luthiers, guitar companies, speakers and experts in the sector and many many musicians present, 300 passes for events printed between musicians and speakers!

The entire Cremona Musica event is today the world’s leading trade fair for high-end craftsmanship musical instruments and the only sector fair in Europe: 300 exhibitors from 30 countries – 48% come from abroad – and over 100 international buyers from 28 countries ( thanks to the collaboration with ICE Agency) are the numbers of an event that for three days brings the world of music to Cremona.

John Monteleone will be awarded the Cremona Musica Award 2022 for violin making for guitar on the special evening of Friday 23 September at 7:30 pm scheduled in the Auditorium of the Violin Museum, with a screening of the film “The Chisels are Calling”, biography of the great American luthier with speeches and interviews by Mark Knopfler, Ben Harper, David Grisman, Woody Mann and other great guitarists. The evening will end with the live performance of Carlo Aonzo and Mike Marshall.

HISTORICAL EXHIBITIONS – SPECIAL EVENTS
“The Mariano De Simone Banjo Collection” by the master luthiers Leonardo Petrucci and Martina Gozzini. An exhibition that pays tribute to the multi-instrumentalist, researcher and leading Italian expert, and not only, of the musical roots of North American culture, author of very important books on the Cajun, Tex-Mex and Scotch-Irish tradition, on the Blues and on Country Music of the United States.

“Music is our life” exhibition of ethnic instruments from the world, collection of Maestro Bruno Brunetti, with the presence of instruments from the collection of Maestro Flaminio Valseriati.
On display are necked ethnic string instruments, both plucked and bowed

“Cremona Mandolini in Mostra”
A series of events dedicated to the mandolin, the small-great stringed instrument.
Artistic direction of Maestro Carlo Aonzo with the collaboration and cultural consultancy of Maestro luthier Lorenzo Frignani.
Coordination and organizational direction by Alessio Ambrosi and Ass.Cult.Armadillo APS
Special guests are the American virtuoso mandolinist Mike Marshall and the collector and expert in the sector Alex Timmerman. 14 mandolin ensembles from various Italian regions are coming with live performances on the Classic Stage and Open Stage

Ukulele area
Exhibition area dedicated to the little Hawaiian 4-string and stage performances, coordinated by Lorenzo “Ukulollo”, with the presence and performances of Paul Moore (UK), creator in Israel of the “Ukuleles for Peace” project, orchestra and musical encounters between Israeli and Palestinian children and families

Charango present!
Meetings, performances, seminars, presentations starring the Charango, the small 10-string Latin American instrument. Coordination by Monique Mizrahi with the presence and activities of Vicente Atal, Fabián Durán, Achille Zoni. Desk with exhibition of tools and presentation of the activities of the organization charango.it.
Sunday 25 September on the external Live Stage, from 11 to 13 “Concerto Dialogato” in which the public will be able to listen to the charango live, with interactions and arrangements made specifically to show the kaleidoscopic sonic possibilities of this small and powerful instrument.
